'Vogue' in many guises has been operating for over 30
years. In the early years the original owners,
Graham and Meryl
Thomas trained many of our current champions and had a great deal of
personal
success in the competition field themselves.
The original 'Vogue' dancing studio was opened in the
late 70's within the Highpoint Shopping Centre
complex, and was the
first successful dancing studio in the Western suburbs. In the
80's, 'Vogue'
expanded into Jazz Ballet, and Meryl opened
up studios in Seymour, Kyneton and Hoppers Crossing.
By this time,
the Ballroom Dancing studio, still called 'Vogue' had
moved to Puckle Street. The 90's
saw the Thomas partnership end, and Meryl continued to follow her dancing passion and teach Ballet
and
Ballroom all over Melbourne and country areas.
The year 2004 is here and the new 'Vogue', situated on
the corner of Melville Rd and Bell Streets in Pascoe
Vale South, is the
successful culmination of thirty years of experience with Vogue School
of Performing Arts
offering a huge diversity in styles. Meryl
simply says that she now has her dream becoming a reality. This
Studio is proving to be an exciting and important part of the local area
as there is something here for everyone!
Meryl's motto is 'If you can dream it, you can achieve it',
it's never too late!
